Integral Care — Veteran, Military & Family Services

Austin TX · Travis County local mental health authority, veteran and military family program

Counseling (individual, family and marriage), trauma therapies including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR and CAMS, psychiatry, substance use treatment including medication-assisted therapy and medically supervised outpatient detox, case management, and peer support for service members, veterans, Reserve and National Guard members and their families. Integral Care states a VA referral is not necessary and that services are available regardless of ability to pay, so veterans who do not qualify for VA care can still be seen — but this is not a free clinic: it uses a sliding fee scale, bills Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance, charges co-pays, and has a charity care program for people who cannot pay. The same page lists the Military Veteran Peer Network Capital Area contact as 512-527-4584 and Mental Health First Aid for Veterans training at mhfa.vet@integralcare.org; parts of the page are dated (it still describes a housing site as opening in May 2019), so confirm details by phone.

Temple TX · Fort Hood area state veterans nursing home

Admission is governed by medical, financial and military service criteria; call the home for admission information or a tour.
